2003-2004 Client’s Guide

Corr Cronin LLP

The Firm:  This relatively new litigation boutique comprises “good, no-nonsense lawyers” with both the ability and the enthusiasm to deal with large complicated litigation issues.  The bulk of the firm’s workload relates to commercial disputes varying from employment and personal injury to products liability and IP matters.  The firm has earned a solid reputation for class action defense work, and recently defended the State of Washington in suits arising from multiple placements of young people in foster care.  Practitioners act for both multinationals and local businesses, but are known to be particularly experienced in high stakes commercial litigation for corporations with interests in the Northwest.  The extensive experience of the firm’s litigators and its boutique status have proved to be a potent mix, which has attracted some of the most complex cases and high-profile clients in the State of Washington.  Among the new clients are several from the oil and gas industry, following its successful representation of ExxonMobil in a $1.3 billion tax assessment dispute with the State of Alaska concerning the valuation of oil produced by the company in the state over a seven-year period.

The Lawyers:  Peers commend Kelly Corr for his ability to obtain favorable results in large, complex court cases.  Corr has extensive experience in high-profile civil and criminal litigation matters, and was selected as lead trial counsel for Nirvana LLC in its dispute with Courtney Love over her representation of Kurt Cobain’s estate and the release of additional Nirvana music.
