The Firm: This petite but highly thought-of boutique firm is home to several of the top individual litigators in the state, and their reputation helps them attract a high percentage of the really big deals. One source echoed the sentiments of many when he said that “they can always be trusted to do a first-class job on a wide range of issues; they are always at the top of my list for firms to consider in the event of a conflict.” Clients use the team for a broad selection of cases, including commercial work and particularly nasty pieces of employment litigation, sometimes involving international issues. Sources commented: “They are very efficient across the board and their written product is very good.” The Lawyers: Knocking on the door of the top tier, Kelly Corr was summed up by one interviewee: “He has a very pleasant outward demeanor and is easy to get along with. When you scratch the surface you find an individual who has both a superb trial instinct and a tough courtroom personality. He is a first-class lawyer through and through.” Corr has a broad practice, which predominantly consists of business commercial litigation. Recently he has been working on the dispute between the Seattle Times and the Hearst Corporation, owner of the Seattle Post-Intelligencer newspaper. In addition he has worked on products liability and employment issues. “Thoughful” William Cronin is a “straight shooter whose word you can rely upon.” His workload consists primarily of legal malpractice and insurance defense case. Randy Squires
has spent the past twelve months handling a range of cases including a real estate
issue and a toxic tort case. One
source in particular was full of praise for his skills as a litigator: “He has an excellent trial technique; he
knows the judges and their clerks and has a good rapport with them. He is persuasive and won’t prolong a matter
if he thinks that it’s in the best interest of his clients to settle it.” |
