Big Victory For Corr Cronin Clients Tuesday, February 1, 2000 Corr Cronin today obtained summary judgment dismissing all claims in a consumer class action that had national ramifications for its clients. Three plaintiffs sued Corr Cronin clients, Alamo Rent A Car and National Car Rental. The plaintiffs sought class action status relating to airport concession recoupment fees charged at Sea-Tac Airport over the last three years. Plaintiffs claimed the fees violated the state’s Consumer Protection Act. The putative class involved thousands of consumers; millions of dollars in damages were sought from each defendant.
After extensive discovery, briefing and oral argument, King County Superior Court Judge Joseph Wesley dismissed the entire case on February 1, 2000. Most car rental companies at major airports throughout the country charge airport concession recoupment fees similar to those that were at issue in the case won by Corr Cronin. ← Back ↑ Top
