Steven Fogg and Kathryn Joy handle amicus brief on behalf of Washington Governor Bob Ferguson

Corr Cronin attorneys Steven Fogg and Kathryn Joy have been appointed as special assistant attorneys general by the Washington State Attorney General’s Office. In this role, they drafted an amicus brief supporting a multi-state lawsuit challenging the legality of President Trump’s recent tariffs. The lawsuit argues that these tariffs, imposed under the International Emergency Economic Powers Act (IEEPA), exceed presidential authority and have caused significant economic harm, particularly in trade-dependent states like Washington. The amicus brief, filed in the U.S. Court of International Trade, highlights the adverse impacts of the tariffs on Washington’s economy, including disruptions to supply chains and increased costs for businesses and consumers. Corr Cronin is proud to support this initiative pro bono, reflecting our commitment to public service and the rule of law.
