Kristen Barnhart’s practice focuses on all aspects of high-value civil litigation in Washington state and federal courts. Kristen has a proven track record of strategically leveraging litigation and alternative dispute resolution techniques to resolve complex, multi-party cases for her clients. Throughout her career, Kristen has obtained defense verdicts absolving her clients of liability, secured victory through summary judgment, appropriately apportioned liability to third parties, and facilitated early resolutions through negotiations and mediation. She is particularly skilled at navigating contract law, negligence, and Independent Duty Doctrine claims. In addition to being a talented oral advocate, Kristen honed her legal writing skills as a judicial extern for the Honorable N. Randy Smith at the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit.
When she is not working on client matters, Kristen enjoys volunteering for the King County Neighborhood Legal Clinic and spending time outdoors on Whidbey Island.
