Blake Marks-Dias makes the impossible, well, seem possible. On Friday, May 27, Blake pulled off the rare and unusual feat of landing two jury verdicts…on the same day. See the trial details below to learn more about these verdicts.
Trial Number One: As co-counsel with ArentFox Schiff Chicago lawyers, Blake defended a child safety seat manufacturer in a significant personal injury case in which plaintiffs asked the jury to award more than $30,000,000. The jury rendered a defense verdict for the client, finding that 100% of the liability rested with another defendant.
Trial Number Two: As lead counsel, Blake defended a publicly traded company in an employment trial in which plaintiff asserted discrimination and FMLA claims. The jury found for the client on the discrimination claim – a key victory that made unavailable emotional distress damages. The jury found for plaintiff on his FMLA claims, awarding plaintiff limited back wages, and an award that was less than 20% amount of the total amount sought.
Blake is taking a few days to relax and recharge and looks forward to his next trial opportunity(ies).
